The H2U Program (Health, Happiness, and You) at Parkland Medical Center will visit the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum on Tuesday, August 22nd. In addition, the group will tour the Christian Science Mapparium and have an Italian lunch at Maggianos Little Italy Restaurant. The trip to Boston will be an opportunity to visit a location that includes historic memorabilia of a time in US history, said Donna Harris, H2U Director. After enjoying an incredible Italian feast, the group will tour the Mapparium. Through this stained glass enclosure you will experience the amazing visual and audio demonstrations that show the world as it was in 1935. The cost of the trip is $55.10, however all H2U Members receive a 5% discount on all trips. Those interested in joining the H2U Program can sign up the day of the trip, said Harris. The cost includes transportation, admission to the JFK Library, a multi course lunch (including taxes and gratuities), and a tour of the Mapparium. This is a great opportunity to socialize and enjoy the sites of Boston, said Harris. H2U is a wonderful opportunity for adults to learn more about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. According to Harris, benefits of a H2U membership include national and local vendor discounts for travel, books, flowers, vision care and prescriptions; discounts in the hospitals cafeteria; a private hospital room if available; a national magazine and H2U monthly newsletter; health screenings; day trips; dinners featuring guest speakers; and quarterly luncheons with entertainment. There is a $15 fee per year to become an H2U member. There are currently over 200,000 national members of the H2U organization, which is sponsored by the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA).
